I have IS v8.1 installed on windows, including client, I was not able to install the client for v 8.0.1, it gives an error.

Is there a way host both clients on the same PC.

While you could do that with 7.x and you can have 7 and 8 co-resident, from what I've read you cannot have multiple versions of 8 installed at the same time.
