Hi,

We have installed datastage version 8 in UNIX AIX. He have around 5 projects with different name. Today we restarted the server due to performance is very low while desing the jobs in the client.

later we are not able to login to the project which is existing.

we did the analysis for checking the following items:-

Make sure all services are running,
make sure that the UV.ACCOUNT file is intact,
make sure that the UV.SCHEMA TABLE also refers to the our project name - in my last mail i have sent the query,
under the root directory / project/ <our project name> - check for all the files are exist VOC, D_VOC, VOCLIB, D_VOCLIB

But we have only VOC,VOCLIB and I_DS_* files also.

So how to take a backup of my existing project from I_DS_* files.

Pls. help me in this regards.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard.

Do you have DS_* and RT_* files/directories in your project directory? If not "someone" has deleted them, maliciously or otherwise and you can not get your project back unless you have a system backup.

The I_* directories contain the secondary indices on the repository tables. You can not restore from these.

Hi Ray,

Is it possible that system itself will remove all the essential files/directory (DS_* & RT_*) under any circumstances.
I am 100% confident, as soon as the server restarted we try to login to the specifc project and we got an error as not in UV_Account with error code 39125.

As a contigency plan, we recreated a new project and recovered the jobs from previous day back file. but it had lost the current day changes (i.e. around 15 jobs as a CR).

Now my intention is why this problem occur and if you faced any scenairo in your experience so that i can avoid such strange thing in my life.

Thanks for your valuable reply.
