Repository empty after rebuilding indices with DS.TOOLS

Post by dserrano »

Hi all,

I have executed a rebuild of the indices using DS.TOOLS (option 2) and found that after that, the repository seems to be empty, at least the "Jobs" folder, however, I can open jobs from Designer from the recent jobs list on the File menu.
I have already read similar things on the forum but I don't find a clear answer about how solve this problem. Unfortunately, our las backup is not very up to date.

I would really appreciate your help

Thank you

... for additional info, I have executed COUNT DS_JOBS and COUNT DS_JOBOBJECTS and works OK giving me some numbers.

Thanks

That happens when you rebuild the indexes and you are not alone in the project. Yes, it can be rather disconcerting to go from a relatively small problem to what appears to be a huge one (OMG, all of the jobs are gone now!) but it should be easy to fix.

Ensure no other clients are connected, jobs are running, defunct processes exist - nothing - then rebuild the indexes again. If you need to, kick everyone off, and stop / restart DataStage to get to that state.

Good. Now for the last bit of paperwork before you toddle off to bed. Please mark the topic as 'Resolved'.
