Use OS user as DS user

Post by lna_dsuser »

Hi,

We are implementing security in our project which needs each individual to have his/her own account on DS and also the linux OS and the credentials should be same.

I created a OS user 'xyz', however this user did not show up as user in the datastge web console,eo allow to assign roles.

Also I created a new Webconsole user 'xyz' and mapped it to OS user 'xyz', but still the datastage client allows the use of Webconsole user credentials to login and not the OS user.

Whats the process to map OS user as DS user, since the user would need to access the DS and linux box using the same login credentials?

you need to change the authentication method in WAS admin console. I think the details are in Administrator guide. But still you need to do the credential mapping.

Please read "Switching to the local operating system user registry" section in Administration guide page 40-44 on 8.5 version. This details out all the required steps you need to perform.

Read page 39-40 first to see if it is suitable for the installation type you have in there.
