Hi All,

I am getting the following error while creating xmeta user during the installation of Datastage and Quality Stage v 8.5. Initially, with an existing DB2 in my local machine, I have tried installing DS, during which I didn't face any problem while creating xmeta. In due course, when I was facing few more problems, I have un installed DB2 in my machine and started the installation process once again. Now , I am not able to proceed from the xmeta creation step itself and getting the following error.

FAILED:CDIPR2079I :Ensure that user xmeta can connect to the database xmeta on host abcd.co.uk at port number 50000 and has create table, create view, create index and create trigger rights. Resolution:Ensure that user xmeta can connect to the database xmeta on host abcd.co.uk and has create table, creat view, create index and create trigger rights.

I have tried connecting to the xmeta using the previous password that I have created during my previous installation, but even then that doesnt help much.

please let me know how is it that I can fix this error. Any kind of response is highly appreciated . Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard.

From what you posted it seems that you have not completely uninstalled DB2.

Thanks for the reply, but I have tried clearing out the registries.
Firstly, I used to have MDM in my machine. MDM needs WAS and DB2 , so for that reason I had WAS v 6.x. and DB2 V9

To install Datastage, we need WAS and DB2 as well. So I thought I can use WAS of MDM and created one more profile for DS and retained the DB2. So, now in my machine , I had profile1 for MDM and profile2 for DS and the same old DB2. So, during the process of installation of DS V 8.5, I started pointing to profile2 instead of creating again WAS and pointed to existing DB2 instance. At that time, I was able to create passwords for xmeta and rest of the users. But during the last step of installation, in the system requirements check phase, I got a warning saying that

The preinstalled IBM Websphere application server installation must be at the right SDK Level.

So, what I did was I have completely uninstalled MDM, WAS and started doing the installation again of DS
by selecting the option of :Install New Websphere Application server and to use the existing DB2 Instance. During this process, I was able to create the passwords for xmeta and rest all other users. But at the end, I was getting again the same warning as listed above.

So, then I have uninstalled DB2 and anything that is associated with WAS and cleared the registries and then started installing DS again. Thats when this xmeta error started popping up.

If it has anything to do with the registries, then can anyone tell me the step by step process to clear the same ?

Thanks

I don't see anything that screams registry issue to me. You haven't addressed the concern the error message brings to the table:

Ensure that user xmeta can connect to the database xmeta on host abcd.co.uk and has create table, creat view, create index and create trigger rights.

Did you, does it?
