We were able to install the Ardent DataStage 7.5 for windows and we are
now testing the migrated jobs from unix version of DataStage. We are
having problem importing table definitions from AS400 source, the
operation of importing table definitions from this source just hangs. We

tried importing from Sybase and SQL server and the operations were
successful. We still have a Datastage 4.5 for windows and we can import
table definitions from AS400 source. I tried comparing the ODBC
configuration of DataStage 4.5 and 7.5, they are same but still we
cannot import table definitions from AS400.

Client-access version is 5 r1 mod 0.

Since you are on Windows you probably MS Query installed (or can install it if you don't); can you access your DB2 tables on the AS400 using your ODBC connection and MS Query? If not, you should re-check your system DSN setting and ODBC configuration; if you can access the database then perhaps you could post your odbc configuration file here.
