this is a case that looks like a bug. Have you tried re-installing the client software and is the problem the same on all your client PCs? If the answers to both questions are yes then you will need to seak with your support provider and get a fix. There are some known issues with patches for the designer from Ascential, but I'm not certain if you are seeing the same error that they address.
