Windows or Linux OS ?

Does anybody knows if there is gap in terms of performance (and maintenanbility) beetwen jobs running under Windows and Linux OS ?
The DS version is 7.5

It is hard to compare directly; if you are reading from and writing to sequential files there might be a speed advantage on the "leaner" linux system. If you are accessing a local database then that manufacturer's implementation makes a big difference. If the database is remote then the networking plays a role. Windows has made great strides vs. Linux in the past couple of years (it had to!); i.e. certain SMP type systems have a better implementation in Windoze than with some versions of Linux.
