The Visual Age Complier in AIX

Hi,

The Ascential DataStage 7.5a Install Guide states that version 6.0 of the Visual Age compiler and runtime library is required in AIX machine.

The box that we are to install datastage server is shared with another application and it currently has the Visual Age 5.0.2 (AIX 5.1) and we are having some issues of upgrading to 6. Ascential of course says that other versions are not supported and doesn't give any indication whether it may still work or not.

Is there anyone who has tried installing DS server 7.5 with the Visual Age 5.0.2 and see if it's working .. or not? or any similar experience? or any suggestion on this issue?
