Anybody had success with getting the SEQ stage to read/write to a file which is located on a network/mapped drive. If any of you have any other method of reading files on remote machines please post to this forum.

Welcome aboard. 
Generally, you can use UNC format to reference mapped network drives, as long as your permissions are correct. There are several posts here on the subject, a search for UNC should turn them up.
Like most things, there are probably other ways to do this, but I believe that this would be the simplest.
