Duplicate job after importing

Post by postmam »

Hello,

After imporing a dsx file with dsimport command utility, I realized that job is showed as duplicated in designer. If I open datastage director and click in the category of the job I get error.

I can solve the problem reindexing the whole project, but it does not make sense do that each time I import a job.

Anyone know of this problem? (Maybe is a bug of this version???) Server version is 7.5.2 (Unix) and client is running in Windows XP box.

Welcome aboard. Do you have the DataStage xpsp2 patch installed?

Patch? :?

I would guess the Project was corrupted before you imported and that's the only reason the 'duplicate' was created. It's certainly not something that passes for normal.

Hi,

I have installed windows XP sp2 but not any Datastage patch.
After reindexing the project, just one entry for this job was showed in both Director and Designer. Then I tried to import again and same problem. Now I have two entries for job and I cannot open Director.

The 'SP2 patch' won't help here. This is cetainly not normal behaviour, you should involve your Support provider. Does the same problem happen if you import via the Manager tool?

Yes, same problem.

I get more or less this error message from Director
"The key is already associated to other element" and afterwards it crush.

I see two entries of the same job in Designer.

It seems that when I import the dsx file, the repository is corrupted for this job.

What kind of messages does your REINDEX show? It is likely that the indices or files are corrupted beyond easy repair.

I still think it's a bug in the client.

Could be... verify that with your Support provider. Does it happen with any .dsx file or just this particular one?
