Hi,
We currently have a Datastage v4.2 Server environment, which connects to an Oracle 9i Database, using OCI 8i client.
We wish to upgrade the database to version 10g, retaining the version 4.2 of datastage server. Oracle 10g requires OCI 9i client as a minimum.
Question is whether v4.2 is compatible with an OCI 9i client or higher, and/or whether a patch is available to do this.
Regards
Chris

Welcome aboard.
Technically no. However, stages are written to a common API so, if you were to get the OCI stage that is compatible with version 9i (from your support provider) and install Oracle 9i client, then you may be able to get it to work. It is worth testing. Of course the OCI stage for 9i may depend on some feature that is not in DataStage 4x - I have no way of knowing, as I have never encountered this combination.
