We recently purchased Teradata to replace Oracle as our backend db. I am currently using the DS Server Edition to extract out of Oracle, land the data, then load into Teradata using their fastload utility. This works pretty good but it is serial in nature. I would like to take advantage of Teradata's TPT utility (Teradata Parallel Transporter) in order to load these large tables in parallel. I had heard from Teradata last August that most of the major ETL vendors (Datastage, Informatica) would have this tool incorporated into their toolset within the Sept. - Oct. 2006 timeframe. Does anybody have any information or first hand experience using TPT within the DS Server environment? Does anybody know when DS plans on releasing the TPT addition to their toolset? Does anybody know what DS toolset(s) TPT will be applied to?
Thanks for any input you can provide!

"They" have concentrated their efforts re parallelism in parallel jobs in the recent past. Without managing it yourself (Link Partitioner and external scripts?) I don't think there's much out-of-the-box capability to support TPT functionality in DataStage server jobs. Do you have Enterprise Edition (and therefore parallel jobs)? There are four separate Teradata stages available there.
