I had a look at the manual again. The RB bulk loader manual is very short - only 10 pages. I couldnt find anything there that helps. In my bulk loader stage (properties) I specified "create a new table? N" With this setting I am getting "Test6.Customer_insert_Redbrick: Failed to create the SQL file"...

how to speed up odbc lookups?
Hello to all. I would like to submit a question, if you are using DataStage 4.1 and doing a lookup to an oracle8i table, which is the most effective way to speed up that lookup, please note that the lookup field has an index in the table, and the table has more than 10000000 registers? Best regards ...

As for why the job didnt stop when you first tried, we would need more information about what the jobs does, what data sources it talks to etc. No that the server has been rebooted, you are right, the job cant be running. However the status information thinks that it is as it probably was when you s...

Stop and reset a job
Hi, We use DataStage 4.1. I was trying to stop a DataStage Job from DataStage Director by clicking on the "stop" icon. However, the job status kept showing "Running" and the reset icon is disabled for this job, so I could not reset it. We rebooted the machine and I am sure nothing is really running ...

Dirk,
Try setting TMU_ROW_MESSAGES NONE in the TUNE section of the rbw.config file.
Just a thought.
Regards,
Ray

I dont know of any specific issue, but I do remember reading documentation saying that BO/Webi must be the only service running...most likely though, this would only have related to Microsoft installs (20 applications, thatll be 20 servers...thankyou!). Take care if you are configuring the cluster m...

What youre doing is OK, but you are asking the Red Brick stage to create the table. There is a known bug in this stage type where it generates an incorrect CREATE TABLE statement when there is more than one primary key column. Workaround is to create the table in Red Brick manually, and dont ask the...

Ray, Yes, lots of changes. Apparently this is on the Ascential KnowledgeBase as a known problem to be fixed in 5.1.1. ( I should have looked there first). By default &PH& is what UniVerse terms a "Type 1" file. In a Type 1 file, IDs are limited to 41 characters. "JOB.1182663753.DT.1236265332.V0S175.IDENT1" is 42 characters long, which is why it was truncated. To prevent recurrence, get to a UniVerse command prompt (perhaps the Command facility in the ...
