Celeste When you reinstall DataStage you can give it the path to the project like dstage on f:dstage. It will see your project files and upgrade the VOC. I have copied files to different locations and fixed them this way. You need to backup f: as soon as possible. You also need to keep full exports ...

Format C drive n loose DS jobs?

Hi there!! I would like to seek your advise regarding the problem above. The problem is like this. DataStage is running on WIN 2000 server and I have set all projects to be store at different location, lets say F drive. The DataStage program files are stored at C drive. So, what if i want to reinsta...

DataStage handles dates internally as integers, with 0 being 31 Dec 1967. Dates earlier than that are negative integers. The problem is whatever conversion routine is being applied. This may be an implicit one, such as where you define the data element to be TimeStamp for example, or an explicit one...

DataStage can correctly interpret dates back as far as you want to go. However, it does not, unaided, handle the millisecond extension on a TimeStamp format. In particular, the supplied TIMESTAMP.TO.DATE Transform fails under these conditions. This is an omission in the program logic of the TimeStam...

HT... What is the "context" for your "feeding?" (ie...where is it coming from and what are you feeding it to.... from a flat file, rdbms answer set [which rdbms and Stage], a string in the transformer, result of a lookup, input to ICONV, etc.)? That will help with an answer. Ernie -----Original Mess...

Your error must be coming from your database when you attempt the insert. I have used dates from 0001-01-01 to 9999-12-31. Can you be more specific with what you are attempting to do and the exact error you get? Note: 1967-12-31 is the internal date of zero for DataStage. Anything less that this dat...

Hi Kim, Let me clarify my question. Its not a date formating problem. My problem was that the year "1221" is not a valide year for DS 4.1. If you feed this year to DS, you will get a warning/error msg. says "Datetime overflow". I question is "what is the acceptable date range for DS 4.1? From what y...

HT You are probably using Oracle 9. It keeps dates in milliseconds. You need to do a user defined query and do a to_char(). You can also change the metadata to be a varchar. This is probably easier. You will need to format it this way on output though. Thanks Kim. -----Original Message----- From: Ho...

Valid Date ranges

Hi,

We have some bad birth dates such as a birth date of 1221-01-01 00:00:00.000. It seems that DataStage would not take those dates. Can some one tell me whats the valid date ranges for DataStage 4.1?

Thanks in advance,

HT

Hi Stacy. Technically, this integration moves meta data from DS to DB2 WM through what is essentially a .dsx file. DB2 WM has a very attractive scheduling manager, which can now control DS/390 and standard DS Server jobs. DS Jobs appear on the DB2 WM graphical tool as icons, and can be started/stopp...

DB2 Warehouse Manager and DataStage Integration

Do you know what this announcement means from IBMs or Ascentials point of view? 10/2/2001 - m I dont totally understand what the "integration with Data Stage and Warehouse Manager" means - because both tools are ETL tools and on the surface are competitive - but it looks like they have paired the st...
