This process is very time consuming and are looking to speed up this process and to avoid creating large datafiles Do you have any e...

Scott, We had a product from Progress Software called "Oracle DataServer" which allowed you to connect to Oracle via Progress. You could then use the Progress 4GL to read and possible write to the Oracle tables. We just read from them. You could purchase this product and use it do handle the convers...

Yah, found that out about the tree late yesterday. To me these kind of knee jerk removal of features bothers me - "we have this new tree display which you can drag stages from, who needs the Insert menu anymore? Yank it!". Wheres the harm in having both and letting people decide which one works bett...

OMIT is only for connections using LAN Manager where you can automatically logon using your network password. To me this means on NT only, the help says dont even bother trying this with a UNIX server. I dont know about NT, but on UNIX flavors of DataStage youll only see jobs scheduled under the use...

Very true. I was just trying to explain how it is typically used, which is the unconstrained, catch-all type of reject. You can certainly mark a constrained link as a Reject Row, but all that would seem to buy you would be the fact that the number of rows going down it would get logged automatically...

I think the OMIT works only if u r logging onto a computer where the server is installed. And I guess if u want to see all the job schedules, u need to login as an administrator. Giovanni, Dave is on vacation this week. To answer your question, the configuration parameter does nothing but set the upper-limit to the number of characters that comprise the record ID. This does NOT increase file size and does NOT increase access time, but it DOES increase the amount of shared me...
