Thanks Gavin. Unfortunately Ascential have said that Once an unsupported patch has made it to a released product, we do not distribute it to customers. I realise you do not want to become the owner of this code but could you send it for us to use please. Promise not to pester you about though!! Chee...

Note that the ORABULK stage is quite slow at creating the Oracle data file when compared to the Sequential file stage. An alternative to the ORABULK stage is to write the Oracle control file yourself and then have a DS job create the data file using a Sequential file stage. Try writing 2 jobs that d...

Only way to change CLIENT licensing
Sorry, the only way to change the licensing on the CLIENT is to re-install. You dont have to uninstall, just do a re-install. SERVER licensing can be adjusted using either DS Administrator, or go to the control panel and the Ascential icon there will let you change licensing. For example, if you onl...

Oracle Insert
Hi Everyone, When I am inserting rows in to a Oracle table with " Array Size" = 100, "Transaction Size"=100, " Transaction Handling" = 200. The rows are inserted at the rate of 388 - 400 rows per second max. Are there any tuning tips by which I can increase the speed to 1500-2000 recors per second ?...

Hi Richard, We experienced the same problem. It seems that there is an inefficient internal routine called by the Director and Designer. I think you will find that if you try the Open Job menu from Designer it will be equally slow. There must be some kind of threshhold when you get over 600-700 jobs...

Process ASN.1 data with DataStage
Hi folks,
Is there anyone know whether DataStage has a plug-in to process ASN.1
data directly? If DataStage does not have a plug-in to support ASN.1
data, any workaround recommended?
Thank you.
Regards,
Melvin

DB2 RUNSTATS in ETL DSDB2 stage failed
Hi, I am using IBM DB2 EEE as my Data Warehouse. I tried to execute " RUNSTATS" : runstats on table [SCHEMA].[TABLENAME] with distribution and indexes all; in DSDB2 stage SQL->Before, it failed and returned me the following error message: TESTRUNSTATE.DSDB20: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/6000] SQL0104N An ...

Raymond Thanks for your assistance, however it seems neither of these solutions work. I find this most strange, because if I constrain the transform with a IsNull(link.column) the empty string rows do not flow through. However using either the If Then Else or Oconv solutions do not convert the null ...
