Is there a limit on the length of the key of a hash file ? We found that the hash file doesnt work if the key is defined with greater than 255 chars.
Thanks,
Bibhu

Load the file names from the directory into a key-only hashed file and use that to test for existence. (File names can be read as key values using the Folder stage type.) -----Original Message----- From: Sharon Asmus [mailto:sharon.asmus@pmic.com] Sent: Tuesday, 27 August 2002 10:51 PM To: datastage...

DSSendMail
I am running a job in DS5.2 installed on a Windows NT server. The job ends with a DSSendMail after subroutine. I including the input arguments in the following syntax: ("From:me@penntraffic.comnTo:me@penntraffic.comnSubject:Subject TitlenServer:servername"). I kept getting the error: SUS2WSRCompar.t...

Dave - As far as I can tell it is only in DataStage 6.0 and the XMLPACK that goes with that. Which I suspect is not much help to you in the short term. But DS 6.0 will be generally available any day now.... [ Ive just realized you are @polk.co.uk. I think the functionality Im talking about was added...

We do have a large file, how could I constrain the Transformer to only write to the Folder stage when you know you have a new key and at the EOF? Hi Len, Were using DS 5.2 and the XMLPACK that that came on the DS5.2 installation CD. Weve looked over the XML stages that this installed and we cant find this property in them. Can you pin down any further what version you say this is in and if so suggest how we can get access to it? Cheers, Dave....

Hi David If you have the latest version of XMLPACK, you should see that the XMLReader stage has a "Trigger element" property defined on the stages Outputs/Properties tab. (In older versions of XMLPACK XMLReader does not have any properties - but Im afraid I dont know when this option got released.) ...

The uvdlockd process has to wake every so often to check whether there are any deadlocks and defunct UniVerse processes. If theres nothing else happening on the system, it will appear to use an abnormally large percentage of available CPU resources. This is perfectly normal. There are no competing p...

We dont run AV software on the DataStage server (or our database server). We run it on ALL workstations and sweep all mail arriving into the organisation. Any special reason why you are upgrading to 5.1a and not the latest version (5.2something)? There was a really dodgy version of the ORAOCI8 plugi...

DataStage and Anti-Virus Software
We just learned how much antivirus software (in our case, McAfee VirusScan) running on the DataStage Server can slow things down. We had jobs which used to run in 6 minutes run 2 hours! However, once the antivirus software is disabled, no problem. How do most folks handle this if you need to have yo...

Contact tech support for confirmation, but you can kill this process. You can also disable its startup in the uv.rc script. Im assuming youre on pre-5.X because its gone on 5.X releases. This is a resource hog when it fires up. By the way, top (or prstat on Solaris 2. shows the total cpu utilization...

Rui, This is one of the three daemon processes started when the DataStage engine is started. The one in question, uvdlockd, handles resolving "deadlock" issues where DataStage processes which previously secured locks (jobs via Designer) are no longer running. This daemon will release those locks whi...

User Hashed Files in Project
I am in the process of migrating a DataStage project from one system to another, without the aid of Version Control (at least for now). I needed a way to identify those hashed files in the project that arent part of DataStage itself; that is, hashed files that were created to support reference input...
