Universe BASIC
Hello, My company has just started to use DataStage. We are begining to find out that to do any complex programming (e.g, loops, dynamic parameter population, etc.) we have to write Universe BASIC code in the job control or in routines. None of the programmers within my group are very familiar with ...

A constraint is a Boolean evaluation. So, anything in a constraint evaluates to either TRUE or FALSE. Zero or NULL is FALSE, anything else is true. Instead of building the possible store numbers as a constraint, why not build them each night into their own hashed file, with store number defined as the key? Then you could link your data against that hashed file, keeping only those records that found a match. >>> jash7@sears.com 10/11/02 10:38AM ...

Putting a contraint in a Job Parameter
Is is possible to put the entire constraint in a Job Parameter? I need to run a job that accepts a parameter of "store number". Example of my transformer constraint is: CustomerIn.store=1906 Or CustomerIn.store=1907 I need to be able to run the job against 1 or many stores. I have tried making this ...

"in the XML hierarchy that field is located. For example, a field "Name" would be defined as ContactNameFirstName)" Youll also need to use "@" or "#PCDATA" to dictate an attribute or element output. For instance, in the example above if the XML description was entered as an attribute, like this: Con...
