Topic: Using Parameter in Constraint....

Hi Ray, The parameter is considered as a string and when it does the constraint check. It doesnt really do the expression check inside the parameter. So it executes the constraint as "DSLink3.Prod>0". Any way to solve this issue. Thanks Siva ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ray Wurlod" To: Sent: ...

Hi, I am using the parameter from the drop down list and also the @TRUE. But it doesnt work. My Parmeter value is : Param1 = DSLink3.Product_Id >=15 Constraint: Param1 Also I tried Constraint: Param1 =@TRUE In the log it says all total rows are rejected but it loads all the records. Thanks Siva ----...

I dont believe you cant use a job parameter in this way in a constraint. In the constraint, the job parameters are just variables that you can use in an expression like any other link or stage variable. DataStage does not do textual substitution in building up the constraint expression. I think Data...

When building the expression you must choose the parameter name from the drop-down list - this marks the name as that of a parameter. Typing in the parameter name does not do so. Also, as Pavan noted, the system variables names are case sensitive, so you would need @TRUE rather than @true. However, ...

Siva, Check your system variable first. All system variables are case sensitive (@TRUE). You cant do this in the same transform. The constraint can only evaluate values as passed in from the left-hand side, or done as stage variables (Im guessing you really mean variable here as opposed to a true parameter). Two solutions - either add another transform, set the variable in the first and...

Stored procedures in Oracle.

Hi Guys, Im trying to fire off a stored procedure from DataStage in an Oracle 9i database. Has anyone done this before, as Im stuck. The procedure is very simple at this point, it requires no input arguments and does nothing more that insert some values into a table. I would like to fire more comple...

Using Parameter in Constraint....

Hi All, I am using a parameter in the constraint which has condition in that. example : Param1 = "DSLink1.Prod_ID > 0" And in the transformation constraint I am using the same parameter. Constraint : Param1=@true It is not working. Is is possible to use condition inside a parameter and use as constr...

Server jobs are not available in the sequencer/job control drop-down list until (a) the server job has been compiled and (b) the drop-down list has been refreshed (for example by re-opening the sequencer/job control job). You certainly can edit the code generated by a sequencer job, but you will los...

I have only played a little with the sequencer, but are you unable to edit the job control code because it wont let you, or because it is not there? If it is not there, then you need to compile the job first so that it will generate the code. As for not a facility supplied as part of DataStage ... I...

Hi Vicki, I havent worked with the sequenzer so far. But for to wrap one (ore more) normal Jobs in a never ending loop this is very easy, you need only very few basic commands. You start with constructing a new job and you select in Menu - Edit - job properties Then you choose the tab job control th...

If I create a sequence job, drag the job I require in, then go to Job control, I am unable to edit it to put a loop in?! Am very suprised this isnt a facility supplied as part of datastage. If I create a normal server to, the job I want to call isnt available in the job control drop down to include ...
