Hi Shawn, No its not possible to have both clients installed on the same machine. There would be registry issues preventing that. From my conversations with DataStage, you can have multiple versions on the server side however, only one instance running at a time. Plus there is some work just going b...

Thanks David and everyone else. We already have the 5.2 client installed on our servers for the purpose of supporting the application via dialup. I guess that those who need to upgrade to the 6.x client during the transition can leverage those installs if they need to hit a 5.2 server. -----Original...

David has described an important real-world way of dealing with dial-up DataStage. Ever try to migrate jobs via dial-up? The export insists on sending a verbose export file over the dial-up to your remote PC. Then, the import sends it back over the dial-up to the server. This is an (being kind) extr...

Sure you can thats what we did when we upgraded. Of course you have to turn one off...ha ha But they can both co-reside, and you can easily stop or restart the engines. This is how we support multiple clients while going through an upgrade... We have Development, UAT and Production Terminal Servers where we have the appropriate client software versions (DataStage and others) to match the corresponding application server. This way, developers can still access any cl...

You can only have 1 version of DataStage Client installed on a given PC. If you need more than 1 version, you must play with registry copies. I recommend using 3rd party registry management software such as VMWare. DataStage Server side installations were not the original question from Starbucks. In...

The 6.0.1 release added * NLS data support (DataStage Server and DataStage XE/390 ONLY) * Over 80 bug fixes and enhancements The previous release to this was the 6.0r3 release which did not support NLS and see...
