Hi,
Well I found some cases where you must use " instead of ' like in modify stage performing conversion functions some times.
I do not know yet the reason.
(1 guess is that no handling of or ignoring ' for some reason)

So always test your stage's behaviour :)

Hi, I had a situation once that regular cleanup deleted all my D_ files since they were more then 2 months old. So I went to delete/create to get the D_ access time up to date. Anyway, one phenomena was that instead of writing lines to the hash file each line became a file in the hash directory file...

Hi,
Just wanted to say I also use Craigs method.
It is dynamicly created at run time and you don't have to use/know DB specific syntax for "all" the ones out ther.

Just to be clear; If I run a rsh command from my DS Server on another machine, The DS Server waits for it to finish and only then resumes execution. Therefor the other machine is to be monitored as well as checking for some thing unusual in my DS Server (just in case). I would try finding alternativ...

Hi, IMHO, you need to monitor the machine running the remote shell command when it gets stuck, in order to figure out why it is stuck. Since you can't controll the remote machine, you might be better off with trying to ftp the file to the local DS machine and branch your job flow acording to the fai...

Hi,
SmallDateTime of MS SQL server is a TimeStamp field with limited range.
So read in the docs for exact lower/upper limits for that type in the MSSQLServer docs to see it you exceeded them.

Hi,
if your actually connecting to a SQLServer DB for your siebel despite the driver saying: hey it's not!
check you configured it correctly.
I'm not sure if a class A IP should be an issue.

Is the KOREA_DB connection working properly?

Hi, IMHO (In My Humble Opinion), The best way if you want it handled with DS is to get your DBA to give you a user defined sql to refresh the Materialized View/s you need. Or to run a SP that does it. Ask your DBAs for their opinion (being thaat a pure DBA task). If you were saying you want to repla...
