You replied to a five year old post, this one to be precise. Let's get you into one of your own. What exactly is this "same issue" that you are having? Do you understand the difference between the two actions you posted: "delete then insert" versus "update then insert"?

I'd ping your official support provider for that one, seems like something that would require a patch. Have you checked to see if there are any patches that address that problem?

FWIW - Informatica can do exactly what you need. A bit surprised that after all these years DataStage hasn't implemented something similar to their "indirect" file read. Basically you point the Sequential File reader to a file of filenames to consume. Quite handy.

You'd need to write something in Java and then integrate it into your job using something like the Java pack. What exact version are you running?

Why not help yourself, ask your official support provider? Get the answer from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

Exactly... copy over the entire directory. And there should be three files in it, the DATA.30 and OVER.30 plus a .Type30 as well.

Are the permissions ok? You could still do the copy thing, just rename the existing one to get it out of the way.

That, in my opinion, would be a question for your official support provider.

There's no magical 'variable' unless you are referring to a job parameter. There are several ways to tackle reading multiple files so let's go through them. 1. You can read multiple files as you've shown directly in the stage if they match a file pattern, in your case something like "file*.txt&...

I'm assuming it doesn't exist... if so, copy over one from another job and rename to that.

More information, please. What is your source? What is your target? What data type do these columns come in as? Go out as? What transformations if any are done? Otherwise we're just guessing.

I'd also be curious what you mean by "process them"? What kind of fate did you have in mind for this data once you've read it? Or is this just an academic question.
