Rather than use the 'package installer' you are (IMHO) better off rerunning the Server install and leveraging the maintenance mode there to install any missing plug-ins. For the core dump, if you are sure you have the correct permisions and sourced your dsenv file before starting, I'd suggest you ca...

Narasimha, as i said i cannot use the Sybase stage because of it not functioning well and i have to use ODBC stage only Perhaps if you explained what in the heck 'not functioning well' means something can be done about that. If it's the performance drop you mentioned in the other post, I doubt you ...

Interesting! Not something I was aware of, probably as I've never had a need to pursue this approach. Any idea where this is documented? There are other options here, some of which sound potentially interesting: -advancedruntime -customdeployment And others, so now I'm curious to read about them.

Welcome!

That's not alot of information to work on. Typically, in a Server job, existing values of a field would be loaded into a Hashed File and then a reference lookup would be used to determine if the value was being changed.

Does that help?

The stage has instructions for cofiguring it in the 'standard' documentation - either the 'Plug-In Installation and Configuration Guide' and the OCI pdf itself. On UNIX it's a matter of editing the dsenv file, on Windows I *think* you just need to ensure your Registry entries are correct for Oracle....

Ok, fair enough. Keep in mind the fact that the job may no longer function after you make these 'cosmetic' changes. :P

Did the field function suggestion help?

This sounds very similar to this post - are you perhaps working on the same problem? If so, let's please keep this to one discussion not two. Thanks.

If not - same question as in the other thread: what is your Output Mode set to? Try 'Single Row' if you have been aggregating rows.

'Job Commit'? No such thing. Please explain under what context you found or heard that phrase.

'Phantom' = background process, something which a Search of the site would have shown you.

Have you verified that it is in fact 'not using the standard port'? Have you verified what port it is actually running on? Have you talked to an SA, whomever is responsible for your SMTP setup, and explained your problem?

Explicitly convert the field from a string to an integer before you get to the Oracle stage.

How are you 'moving' jobs? There's no restriction that says it 'cannot be moved' if it is not compiled - unless you've got no way to compile it wherever you are moving it to? Checking visually via the Director is probably the simplest. I guess you could also use the MJC or Multi-Job Compiler in the ...

There's no 'script' to remove or create a new project. And I'm surprised you have a need to delete and recreate test projects 'several times'. :?

My advice - stick with the Administrator.

Ok. "The seq files are for perseverance". Meaning what, exactly? Just so you can see the intermediate output? That's fine as long as you realize you don't need them in the job design for it to function. Design: Folder->xmlInput->transformer->xmloutput Is all you really 'need'. "Other options set to ...

It sounds like you've installed it correctly, now you have to actually use it to effect a switch. Run the MCM and you'll see - it will show you your current clients, which is in effect and ask which you'd like to switch to. From what I recall, anyway. You'll need to run it each time you want to swit...
