You have 'the same problem' and I have the same question - how would you call it if you were not using DataStage? The answer to that question will lead to the solution.

Or you can always involve the experienced people at your official support provider.

So perhaps simply substring off the first or last character and check that.

That sounds like a support question to me. Also, I wasn't asking about the creation of the tables but rather the databases, since it seemed like you were talking about two different ones... or are 'staging' and 'work' in fact in the same database?

So... a script. And not a lot of other information to go on. I'm not sure how anyone can answer your question without seeing exactly what the script does and thus what "to get data from different files" means. At this point we don't even know if the ESS is what is "hanging" for y...

So use a Sequential File stage then. What purpose is the External Source stage serving here? "sh filename" is fairly meaningless as a source filename... is that "filename" a script? :?
