You'll either need to pass in the date to use as a job parameter as noted, or rename the file after-job to include the system date.

Re: DB2 to SQLServer ETL runs slow..using wrong logical

Working with our DB administrator we found that the ETL job was not using the most efficient logical file for that physical table. We are trying to understand better just what exactly this means. Can you explain what your DBA feels it is doing wrong or not doing correctly with regards to this 'most...

NP. And just in case it wasn't clear, another BIG concern of theirs was the fact that Ascential has deprecated the product and it would not be supported or available in future releases. Or at least that was our understanding...

As noted, how are you getting the filename in the first place? Typically, that would be a job parameter and if so, just use it for the derivation of this new field.

Ok... glad you got it working, but just for the record - Oracle does not take 'internal format' dates. Sounds like you've done just what needed to be done: get the date into a external format that matches the format mask used in the TO_DATE() function. For example: YourDate = '2007-07-25 17:12:13' T...

Make sure you have the full path to the file mentioned and that you've told gunzip to 'write on standard output'. Make sure it works from the command line and writes the uncompressed data to 'the screen' and then it will work in the Filter.

Please be more specific - what options on the 'XML tab' are you interested in? If this is something that is truly undocumented, then your best bet would be to contact your official Support provider, get the information directly from the source.

And yes, sometimes a Stop request makes a job stop and sometimes it makes it abort. You'd need to ask IBM why it works like that. And speaking of 'why' - from what I've seen, 'Stopped/Restartable' is not in fact restartable. Only an 'Aborted/Restartable' Sequence job can actually be restarted proper...

The file physically exists - where? Use an absolute path unless your file actually does exist within the job's project, which is where you've told it to look for it.

The original post is marked as 'Windows' so if that's correct there is no cron. But the point remains, if you run your jobs from the scheduler that DataStage uses, you might as well stick with letting DataStage interface with your scheduler for you. And if you have nothing in the way of an Enterpris...

I didn't say it wasn't readable, I just said it wasn't known for its readability. I don't have an issue with it either. However, for someone not quite as... intimate, shall we say, with code of that nature as you are it can be quite intimidating at first blush. :P

I can't. You'd need to use the 'Contact' option at the top of the screen to send a message to the Webmaster as they are the only ones that can straighten this out for you if something is borked about your account.

Did your membership expire perhaps?
