I meant the actual Oracle data type in your target table. Also: ORA-03106 fatal two-task communication protocol error Cause: The communication path between Oracle and the user task has stopped. This is an internal error message not usually issued. Action: Contact Oracle Support Services. Found this ...

Esepcially considering the fact that there doesn't seem to be any Java coding experience there.

Welcome. There are several ways but I'd probably suggest you add an Execute Command stage to the Sequence job. Execute a "cat" command on the file (which will write the contents of the file to stdout) and then you can use the StageName.$CommandOutput<1> value as the parameter for the job t...

Actually, it does provide a solution - a patch. Check with support to see what your options are for your version.

Everything in your version is in tables, Universe tables as you noted. They're still there in subsequent releases, it's just that there is also an XMETA relational database along for the ride as well. To query these tables, you'll need to connect to the project using uvsh/dssh and then run some SQL ...

What does your Oracle target column look like?

ps. Duplicating the subject of your posts into the "Additional Info" area does NOT add any additional information to your post. FYI.

Typical advice here would be to use a Server Shared Container with the Server version of the Sequential File stage in your parallel job as it can handle columns with 'terminators' in them. That or for something as bare bones as your design, an actual Server job.

Not sure I understand your question... you need both. Or do you mean using some kind of IF-THEN-ELSE structure instead of the TRIM at the end? :?

Can you post the error in its entirety, please? That seems like a bug to me, it's a placeholder in the message that a string value is supposed to be substituted in for and it's not happening. In your shoes I'd get it in front of your official support provider.

For the record, my guess was predicated on the OP being shocked at the value and thus assuming that it couldn't possibly mean "Not Applicable" which is of course the first assumption. Silly me. :P

No clue what you mean by a 'security patch' but whatever patches are available for your version should be found on Fix Central.
