I thought about that but for some reason while knowing it could read from multiple worksheets / tabs, thought there were issues with writing to multiple worksheets. I guess we'll see!

As far as I know, that may only possible using the Unstructured Data stage which is not available in your version. That's a job for a BI / Reporting tool, not ETL.

No clue, sorry. In the HDFS connector, when I selected first record as header, it added yet another row, instead of getting rid of this record. Of course. When reading, that option skips the first record assuming it is a header, when writing it adds a header record using the column names in your met...

Sure... but the Enterprise stage is not "just FTP" but rather built for a different purpose. It's metadata driven so it can be used as a source directly into a job, that or directly out to an FTP target so that there's no intermediate flat file needed on the DataStage server. Just an FYI.

No, and is why I was never a big fan of it. For that functionality, fall back on scripted transfers to get the file local.

Support.

Or continue to wait until someone who has something relevant to add wanders by and does so. That's the way peer-to-peer support on a web forum works, I'm afraid.

Actually dsxchange.net site is "up" but as noted is pretty much dormant. Can't speak for the people in charge here but the answer to your question seems to be a resounding "no", I'm afraid.

Sure, seeing as how an Oracle DATE is actually a timestamp, i.e. carries a time portion. Do you want the time from the timestamp in the DATE? Does your source include milliseconds? I'm not sure any more if an implicit conversion would work (been too long), the most 'compatible' / universal way would...
