Here is the sequence I put into an script from IS 8.7 on AIX w/ DB2 (Note: my IS install path is non-default). Normally after the script runs, we still manually check for processes that didn't get stopped as expected, and kill -9 on each of those, unless we reboot the LPAR, then we just reboot. # st...

Active Memory Expansion (AME) and Information Server
Has anyone tried using the Active Memory Expansion (AME) feature of IBM POWER7 systems running AIX 6.1 TL4 SP2 or higher, with Information Server? - AME transparently compresses in-memory data to expand the effective memory capacity. - Expansion is based on a factor of 1.00 to 10.00 times the physic...

Are you by chance on AIX? It sounds similar to the rare problem I hit several times, which turned out to be due to a semaphore leak, which was related to specific versions of DataDirect drivers used with info server on AIX. It would hang our entire server and rebooting was the only option. Why do I ...

Have you checked for enough free disk space? I ran into a similar 9.1.2 install problem on AIX, which was that the /var file system did not have 1000 MB free, causing the install to fail. Note: the ISA lite pre-req check did not catch this, so I worked with IBM on getting the pre-req check fixed. Th...

Thanks for sharing all the nitty gritty details. I am just curious why you have gone to all this trouble, why go down the errlog path in the first place? What was the original problem that drove you here? It sounds like you are able to link the remaining errlog entries with specific job runs, but se...

As of now it looks like they offer certification in DataStage 8.5 and 9.1, QualityStage 8.5 and 9.1, and Information Analyzer 8.5 and 9.1. They must have skipped over 8.7 for certification.
