Thanks again!! It's exciting to feel the love. A little community help means that we'll be able to do more with the site, such as bigger hardware (streaming video would be AWESOME). Imagine online help tips complete with pictures, sounds, etc. Text cut-and-paste is great, but imagine a 30-sec blurb ...

Look at the OCONV function in your DS BASIC manual, the token MCP removes unprintable characters. There's other options to remove not letters and numeric values. You could also use EREPLACE, CHANGE, and CONVERT to name the specific values to be replaced or removed.

If you look up the ORA24338 message it relates to a stored procedure. Somewhere you are encountering a stored procedure. Verify your target SQL action, and all before/after SQL tabs.

What is the target stage, or are there reference lookups using stored procedures? Are there before/after SQL commands to stored procedures?

Your job is tragically dying in some way. Monitor its execution via "ps -ef|grep yourjobname" to see the active stage processes of the job design. Do it right now to see if there's zombies leftover. Otherwise, you can always see if the job is still live this way. Please describe the general design, ...

Post your query please and also please tell us if the message comes from your source stage or target stage. The ORA message is from a stored procedure, so I'm confused if you have user-defined SQL how you're getting this message.

It sounds potentially that the project has some issues internally. Is there any chance you ran it out of space? Consider getting a file system level backup as soon as possible. Make sure everyone is out of the project, then try using DS.TOOLS from the command line. Just telnet to the server and logi...

Re: i am ok with you ,you said very nicely

Did you see us at IBM Live? Do you think this site paid for that? None of us are asking for contribution, we do that enough. We paid to go to IBM Live so you folks could meet us. We foot the entire cost of the hardware, we write the answers, post the free code. We pay our way ourselves. In order to ...

Did you see their paid ads at the top of the screen? Other than ads for transition training from the Inner Circle members, how many ads you see on DSXchange? I'm finished with this discussion with you. You have descended into specifically ignoring answers and are spreading disinformation. Inner Circ...

Re: i am ok with you ,you said very nicely

Nothing has changed except 5 prolific posters in-depth answers will be partially (and arbitrarily) behind a button. There's nothing to prevent other experts from answering. What's your beef? If premium posters are so important to answering questions, how is a different site that does not feature the...

We're talking about 5 people having "special answers". There are many qualified people to answer who are not premium posters, they can pick up the slack. The minority who do pay the fee are floating all the rest, remember that.

If the 5 premium posters retired to Jamaica today, this site would still continue with the remaining folks picking up the slack.

This forum is still FREE. Just the 5 premium posters listed on the front page have the ability to restrict portions of their answers. How bad is that?
