Unfortunately, in todays release, the gui is the only way to stop an ISD job.....by "disabling" it......

Exactly.... As soon as you finish the "deployment" in the Info Server Console, your job wil be started...it will be running and "waiting" for your incoming SOAP request.......when the request arrives it wlll be processed immediately.

You need to review and study the documentation. Pay particular attention to the sections on "Job Topology". Jobs with WISDInput will be "always on".....Jobs without WISDInput will be run only when invoked...there are pros and cons to both methods ---- you need to know about your ...

I like Actional's SOAP testing tool...another good one is SOAPui........XMLSpy has a soap testing tool also, I think. .....Vordel has another one called SOAPBox...

Be sure you are familiar with WSDL and how to find it and and test with tools that can invoke SOAP based web services.

If you are getting escape character values on your "previously" created xml content, use the XML "Data Element" value for that particular column...this will prevent it from being automatically "escaped"......

...but you do have to configure your Cognos environment to point to the workbench for lineage.....it's in the system settings, and is also very well documented in the Cognos doc set. Search thru the doc for Information Server or Metadata Server or possibly Glossary, to find the settings.

Can you "see" the DataStage server, the project, and its folders? If so, and you are certain you enabled the job for services, then simply make sure it is compiled. It won't appear unless compiled and enabled.
