The standards (and the support for them) has certainly gotten better over the years, but when I'm dealing with xml (with DataStage or any other tool) I prefer [as much as possible] to let my own fingers do the talking (and the converting).... I treat ALL columns and elements are pure character ---- ...

absolutely the fix pack is needed so that you can publish independent numbers of terms and leave others in draft. Outside of that, the biggest challenge I've discussed with sites is what "workflow" means for production vs development glossaries. ...and that depends on the culture of the si...

one possibility is to use the trigger column and allow the xml stage to write multiple files with a suffix that it generates dynamically (to keep the files unique, assuming that you are creating more than one in a single stream), and then post process the set of xml files with another DS job, or ano...

there's not enough of a chunk there....the coverages element didn't seem to close.... nevertheless, in this screen shot of xml, there are clearly multiple independent paths ...one for limits perhaps, and another for premiums? I can't tell because it doesn't look like a complete xml and it's only a s...

8.7 ? Then the best recommendation is to drop this line of research. Unless you are doing a very rare "export", start using the Metadata Asset Manager....it is FAR better from a normal GUI perspective (for starters, it remembers property values so that if you get your password incorrect fo...

Well, that's good. At least we know that nothing is wrong with your install of Info Server.

Not working on your machine? Hard to say. It clearly is unable to write somewhere. Re-installing the client might be something to consider.

It doesn't sound like there was clear communication with support about your issue. XML "files" don't come into play with the Designer, unless they mean xsd's, and even then, it's a metadata issue not a parallel framework one. I think they are as confused as we are about the exact nature of...

I have no idea. Haven't seen this before. Before you call your support provider, I would suggest first being sure that you try this on a completely different client workstation, just in case it is something local, as opposed to an issue with the server. ..and by the way, what release of Info Server?...

I'm confused.... Are you having issues with the opening of the Stage for Job Design and edit purposes? ...or issues with the execution at run time? ...and if it's opening the Stage, it absolutely is going to take longer...there's a whole new infrastructure underneath it, and the assembly editor, etc...

Thanks. That's certainly "better". Is it sufficient for your requirement? The Connector import, in general, is the best method of importing rdbms metadata and a habit that we should ALL start using as an alternative to other methods. It is smarter in the way that it brings in collections o...

Please give us more details......are you unable to connect to the Metadata Asset Manager with your browser? Unable to create an import area? Unable to view the bridges? Unable to do the import and get this error when you try an express import? Have you tried the older (but still valid) Import/Export...

Does the Oracle Connector import (using the Connector import Wizard) do the same thing? (as the plugin import?)

Thanks.

Yes. More details are needed....it could be something strange, but it might also be absolutely correct and legitimate, depending on the contents, the number of repeating nodes and subnodes, and the ultimate size of the receiving columns. Some things to look for and let us know: The number of "r...
