Yes you can. Set up a Connector (and ODBC Connector if you must) into the Teradata database, as you would for DataStage. You will need to have Teradata client software installed on the analysis engine.

I don't know what plans IBM has, but can see merit in the capability. Perhaps you could raise an enhancement request?

Hi! Ray, Would like to be preventive rather than corrective later, to have installation which aligns with license. I'm looking for your point to understand with QS 8 Core + DS 4 Core license, can we go ahead and install Engine tier with QS + DS on 8 Core virtual machine? You would be violating your...

Depending on your version, the name of the WAS profile will be different. For example for version 11.3 it is InfoSphere. The application server name is almost always server1.

Can you be more specific about how to specify a WHERE clause when running an analysis? I cannot find it in version 8.5.0.3 and I cannot find it in version 11.3.1.2.

You seem to be relying on something that was not properly checked in version 8.5 but now is being properly checked.

IBM trusts you not to exceed your licensed limits. You agreed to allow them to audit this any time they choose. In some cases, particularly virtualized environments where it's so easy to change the number of cores, they may insist upon monitoring software (such as ILM) being in place.

It can. There are two things you have to do. (1) Configure WebSphere Application Server security to use LDAP, and set properties to tell it which user registry to use (e.g. Microsoft Active Directory) providing appropriate credentials (such as server, port number, base DN, bind DN and password). (2)...

Your understanding is not quite correct. Parameter values are set when a job is started (not when it is compiled, apart from compiled-in values).

IBM doesn't really care what topology you use, so you can allocate your cores on however many (or few) machines you like. It's good that you realise the importance of keeping the services and repository tiers close together. Separating Information Analyzer is a good idea if you want to schedule prof...

Hmm, I understood that "mark for deletion" did not impact the development glossary. Perhaps this behaviour has changed in version 11.3. Have you actually tried "return to draft" on a published item? Or you could export those components first, then mark for deletion, and finally r...
