The reason, as you would have learned had you bothered to Search, is that Decimal data types are always displayed to full precision and scale, as a visual guarantee that these are correct.

If the operating system administrator has not enabled large file support then creating a Data Set will simply create multiple segment files per node, each segment file not exceeding the size limit set by the operating system.
