Prove that VOC is too large. VOC is typically presized as type 3, modulo 23, separation 4, which is considered to be a reasonable default. Are you storing any particularly large records in VOC and, if so, why? Yes, you can set a remote pointer to VOC from a different account and resize while the tar...

Business Glossary

For reasons outside the scope of this question, the system configuration is (users) -----Citrix-----> (Client) <-----> (Engine) The (Client) and (Engine) tiers are on a secure network not otherwise accessible to (Users). That's all very well for "direct" users of client tools such as the B...

There is no limit to the length of a string in DataStage (until you run out of memory).

There is, however, an operating system limit on the length of a command line. And another one the size of a list that can be generated by a regular expression.

The reason, as you would have learned had you bothered to Search, is that Decimal data types are always displayed to full precision and scale, as a visual guarantee that these are correct.

It doesn't really matter. If the operating system administrator has not enabled large file support then creating a Data Set will simply create multiple segment files per node, each segment file not exceeding the size limit set by the operating system. There is nothing you can change in the DataStage...

Read through the PAT file for the rule set - see if (where) CASA and VILLA are explicitly handled. See if you can pre-empt that in the way that Stuart suggested.

Welcome aboard. There's no "official" support for Unidata beyond version 6 in DataStage. However, there's no reason to suppose the Unidata 6 stage won't work with Unidata 7. Have you tried it? If that doesn't work, configure the Unidata account for use with ODBC, and you can use the latest...

The best way is to copy the appropriate lines from the DSParams file. Make sure you preserve the alphabetical order within sections in this file.

On a local radio station on Thursday morning one was most surprised to hear excerpts from Chopin's solo bagpipe music, allegedly just discovered in a Polish library. It came as a revelation to me to discover that on his trip to Scotland in 1878 he was so impressed by the instrument that he wrote thr...
