I rebooted and now the problem has gone away.. DS telnet servce starts fine (the old microsoft "if it don't work reboot" saga). Thanks for your response ... Perry

I did , that's when I noticed the problem (when I tried to manually start from the control panel).

Just finished install of server and client (7.5x2) on my laptop and cannot start Datastage Telnet Servive when I go to "Ascental" services in the Control Panel.. Event viewer msg is ... The DataStage Telnet Service service depends on the DataStage Engine Resource Service service which failed to star...
