Well... seeing as you're not the first person to pose a question like this, as a starting point I would suggest doing an Exact Search here for "housekeeping". Not everything will be relevant, of course, but there are answers out there. Or at least discussions.

I would also suggest you get familiar with Search on the IBM Support Portal. Search is your friend.

Are you an admin for your DataStage setup?

There are a bunch of standard maintenance activities to be proactive.
There are things unique to your company that need to be identified.
There are technical and political activities that need to be monitored.

It's funny that you mention this topic because I'm pitching a presentation at the upcoming Think conference about this very topic. "How to Maintain a DataStage Grid Environment."

IBM service portal doesn't help much with DataStage Admin "cleanup work" that is handy to do. I have never found a list of TODOs.

IBM's site often assumes "Nothing ever goes wrong". Their tech notes have a lot of "do this if this breaks..." but not a lot of "go out and eyeball if you see any of these things...".

Here are a few examples.

What is the &PH& directory used for in DataStage and does it need to be cleaned out?
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/what- ... leaned-out

Temporary lookuptable files that use up disk space

What are some periodic maintenance recommendations for WebSphere in a DataStage environment?

IBM Knowledge Center and IBM Education Assistant are a few other resources you can search on. A lot of it is just gained from hands-on experience and working Support cases.
