MNS-type functionality for customer products

Post by ymadden@bmi.com »

I would like to take the concept of the MNS country specific address standardization rules and apply it to Customer specific product standardization rules. I could supply a customer code, just as a country code is passed for MNS addresses, and have a different standardization rule executed based on the customer code. Can this be done? Could we copy and modify the MNS rules and point the MNS stage to our new rules?

Hi,

There may be too much 'hard wired code' in the MNS stage to fit any other use case. For example, you would probably have to 'fake it out' by using a country code in place of your customer code. So, customer '001' would become country 'CA', '002' would become DE, etc, etc..

Instead, it may make sense to have one job with a transformer that sends data to the standardization stage with the customer specific standardization rule sets.
Regards,
Robert
