Usually, a natural programmer would write a program to extract data from Adabas and dump it to a flat file. I have also hear about a product called 'NatQuery' which will allow a similar thing. However, the Natquery option is an expensive route. Does an ODBC exist for Adabas that DataStage could use? If so, where can one get it?
Many thanks.
Extracting data from Adabas with DataStage

Hi
Which version of ADABAS you working on ?
If your source of ADABAS is ADABAS C, there is no ODBC for it.
If your source of ADABAS is ADABAS D on Unix or Windows, then "yes" there is an ODBC for ADABAS D.
For ADABAS C, the best way with tools is 'NetQuary', it gives you a very nice GUI on Windows to connect to ADABAS C on Mainframe or ADABAS C on Unix and generate a Natural program to extract from ADABAS C. I know it is costly, but it is better then finding people that know Natural and ADABAS C.
