Hello Every one,

I am trying to write a routine that return error message text. So far, any DSJOB functions that I used, return the error code. Ex. If job aborted it will return status = 3 aborted. Is any way to return the error message that descript the error in text format.
Thank you in davance.

Welcome aboard. Please post in the correct forum. By doing so, you will be prompted to enter in information necessary for us to answer your questions.

What version of DataStage?
What release of DataStage?

Are you attempting to use the dsjob command line program for starting jobs?

Can you please post the EXACT command you are running and the EXACT error messages supplied?

Simply looking in the job log will reveal the error most of the time. Resetting the job will retrieve the error information most of the rest of the time.
