Additional info: Datastage on Azure |
Hi,
We are planning to host DataStage on Azure cloud as part of data centre exit strategy. Please provide the steps involved in doing that. Below are some of the queries on the same.
> Currently we are using DS11.5 ,Do we need to upgrade to 11.7 in order to do that?
>Can we install DS server on Windows or we can install DS only on Linux machine

Those are all questions that you need to be asking IBM via a Case ticket (formerly PMR ticket).

Information Server 11.7.1 is the only version available in docker containers that you would need to deploy on Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Red Hat Openshift. So the answer to your questions about upgrade is yes, you would need to use version 11.7.x
Check in your Passport Advantage site if there is a docker container with the Windows version already available for your download

We have installed DataStage on a Redhat VM in Azure. This is basically an IAAS solution and can be used with any version of DataStage.
> Currently we are using DS11.5 ,Do we need to upgrade to 11.7 in order to do that?
==> Both version were installed succesfully.
>Can we install DS server on Windows or we can install DS only on Linux machine
==> We have installed on RHEL VM.

Thank you for the response
As you are saying this is a IAAS solution . Are you connecting to Azure databases, datalake or blobs or On-Prem DB's.
As far as i know DS11.5 does not support Azure connectivity.

We are connecting to both on-premise and Azure based databases. ODBC connectivity is utilized with the Azure based databases.
