"error": "SELF_SIGNED_CERT_IN_CHAIN"

Post by gsbrown »

We've moved our web services from version 9.1 to 11.5 and it's our first time dealing with "https://" with SSL. We have the web services deployed on the 11.5 server, but our 3rd party client application that interacts with these services is getting an error ""error": "SELF_SIGNED_CERT_IN_CHAIN" "

IBM support linked me this article, but it's a bit overwhelming to a newbie. Anyone have a dumbed down version of these steps or can walk me through what you did exactly? Do you recommend we create new certificates to share or are we supposed to share the "root" certificate that already exists in WAS?

thanks!

This is the light version of the procedure. Do your company have a WAS administrator? If yes then ask for help to that group, the procedure is straightforward for a WAS person. If not then just follow the process and ask in the forum if any issues

As per the certificate, you could use one generated from WAS application but best is to get one from one external CA provider with a stronger encryption
