DataStage® Release: 9x
Job Type: Parallel
OS: Unix
I developed a web service which produces the response containing extended characters. It is not able to convert the characters correctly.

Example: Input: Pokémon Pokéball Bead in Sterling Silver
output: Pokémon Pokéball Bead in Sterling Silver

What can I do to fix it?

Note: If the data is written in a file it is converting it correctly.

Hard to say what the solution is here, or even what the "problem" is, without actually seeing what is actually "on the wire". Some things I would probably try: a) what protocol are you using? ...

Can you provide more input as in What is the o/p format? and What is the NLS setting you are using?

Also try setting NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8, and see if it resolves your problem.
