Have you tried re-importing the job now that you've set NLS correctly? Also, check the DSX file prior to import, to see what is has set for the properties for that stage.

I think we have managed to find the issue. The NLS setting once we login to datastage administrator was different in dev compared to prod. So once we made it similar job worked fine
Change was done from UTF8-CS to MS1255-CS (this one looks a default)
