Redbook - SOA Solutions Using IIS

Post by asorrell »

FYI - I noticed this wasn't posted anywhere and it is great documentation.

IBM's Redbook Series: SOA Solutions Using IBM Information Server

http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/Redbooks.ns ... enDocument

Warning: This is a very large PDF document (14.6mb - 500 pages)

Note: Don't forget to check the "Additional Material" link for other downloads that support the Redbook examples.

Note2: Please note that this document contains contributions by Mr. Ernie Ostic (among others) - another reason to pass thanks to him next time he helps you out on an WISD / SOA question...

I remember that. Had to go look it up for a good laugh. It's in the DataStage one..... "DataStage Data Flow and Job Design."

Thanks for the notes guys. I have all of you to thank for playing with the stuff and coming up with cool challenging things. ...and I'm still carrying your books around when it comes to deep DataStage stuff.....

Hey, I'm curious. Are these Redbooks, if you order an actual honest-to-goodness printed version, in color like the pdfs are? No clue I could find, one way or the other, at the Vervante site. Sure, they show the cover in color but that doesn't mean the insides are, necessarily.

Anyone know?

Not sure - never bought one. I am fortunate to be at clients with color printers - so I just print one off and bind it.

The hard copy sent to me has a color "cover"...but the diagrams inside are all b&w.

Is there anything in the copyright of the PDF to prevent you from printing off your own colour copy? You could even get it professionally bound.

I don't think so or they would have carted Andy off to the pokey by now. I just wonder how much someplace would charge for something like that? :?

You may be surprised how little. Obviously nowhere near as cheap as black and white but, once you get over 500 pages, the per-page price tends to plummet.
