I like the idea of ToolXchange, the file upload/download has proved to be very popular at DevNet and something similar should be popular here as well. I would prefer the content management approach with scores for popularity and user ratings to indicate the most useful items.

ResourceXchange sounds interesting and I think IT recruiters will be crawling all over it. I'd prefer some type of directory with a list of companies and individuals who specialise in Ascential problems with dates indicating availability for project work. I am wary of a site that attempts to upload a bunch of resumes, perhaps a few fields of summary information such as years of experience and level of competence in each Ascential product would be better.

A winner would be a decent reporting tool which hooks into the database.

A lively DataStagexchange would serve the purpose of ToolXchange.

This would definetly ehance the resources for Datastage. And it can be controlled as well.

This is what's known as a Lazarus post. The original question was put in 2004. Both sites mentioned now exist - the Newsletters appear on one of them.
