ERROR CONNECTING DS SERVER:TIME_WAIT

Post by Rubu »

Hi
I have been constantly getting errors while trying to conncet DS Server. The Error is copied below.
Failed to connect to host: abcder.adcfv.com,
project: gsddsd_sksjd
(Internal Error (39204))

While I run netstat -an | grep 31538 for the port number of dsprc
I see the following output...

tcp 0 0 13.250.43.28.31538 13.250.55.73.1567 ESTABLISHED
tcp 0 0 *.31538 *.* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 13.250.43.28.31538 13.250.55.215.3913 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 13.250.43.28.31538 13.250.55.215.3915 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 13.250.43.28.31538 13.250.55.215.3929 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 13.250.43.28.31538 13.250.55.215.3886 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 13.250.43.28.31538 13.250.55.215.3892 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 13.250.43.28.31538 13.250.55.215.3898 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 13.250.43.28.31538 13.250.55.215.3900 TIME_WAIT
tcp 0 0 13.250.43.28.31538 13.250.55.215.3902 TIME_WAIT

Where 13.250.55.215 is my machine name....

I am able to login after N number of attempts...How many? I cant really predict.........

Try to log into Unix via telnet and see what happens.

Did you bounce DS recently?

YES.

We restarted DS Service and I changed its UVTEMP directory to another one with lot of space.

I ran the analayze command in unix while failed to login the datastage designer window.

Did you regenerate DS?

Does the dstage group has privilege to the new UVTEMP area?

Hi

I created datastage directory inside Ascential Directory. Is it necessary to have write previledges for the user logging in DSServer from client side.?
