Corrupt Datasets

Hello Forum,

I have a dataset control file (the .ds file) that DataStage and DataSet Management tool complains is not a DataStage dataset file.

I've manually looked at the contents of the file, and it is missing the standard content that would indicate it is a dataset. The entire .ds file contains messages such as the following:

ta at offset 624394 ('False') was found to be of TYPE
X'0029' (<A FieldName> Field Data).

(Level 2: Offset 624400, len 5, comp 38 of 47, #1, DI 00190601:) Data at offset 624400 ('False') was found to be of TYPE
X'002A' (<Another FieldName> Data).

Anybody with ideas as to how dataset files can become corrupted like this?
