Maximum Columns that can be read by a sequential file

Maximum Columns that can be read by a sequential file

Hi All,

I have a crazy requirement where in i will have to ready wider file having more then 2200 columns using a sequntial file stage. I would like to know is there a threshold to the no: columns that can be read by a sequential file.

Any help is appreciated!

Yes you can have 2200 columns in a sequntial file stage.

The only limit you might strike is if the operating system has a limit on the number of bytes in a line in a file. There is no limit within DataStage per se. Check with your UNIX administrator.

I have used 3500+ columns in one of the job...
