Stopped but status is showing as running

In the director it is showing job status as "Running" for a particular job. But when i tried to monitor that job,it is showing as 'stopped' status in monitor window....

why does this happens....???

if someone have stopped that job...?? it should show aborted status...

also chked that job....no records have passed across sort stage....


whether this prob is due to sort stage...??

The Monitor shows the status of stages, not of the job. The job itself may still be running, waiting for the sort to complete. To get the last-recorded status of the job, use Status view in Director. To find out how far the job got, use Log view in Director. If the job had been stopped (for example from Director) its status should become Stopped, not Aborted. Finally, if the job processes have been killed (which you should never do), then the last-recorded status will be exactly that, the last-recorded status; killing the job prevents it from updating its status in the Repository.
