You do not, you work to get websphere up and engage IBM should you encounter the brick wall.

You will not be able to properly extract a datastage job without your websphere.

If WAS isn't up... extracting jobs is a secondary concern.

I am not able to bring up WAS in one environment.
I have another environment where WAS is up and client is able to connect.

hence I wanted to export jobs from first environment and deploy on second environment.

Re-read Paul's response. The additional information you provided does not obviate the fact that you need WAS running where currently it is not.

Hi Ray and Paul,

You response is clear.

I am trying to find it if there is an alternate way to extract the jobs as I am not able to bring WAS 6.0 up.

According to IBM, it no longer supports WAS 6.0. and DS 8.1

Asking DS Guru, to guide me to break the brick wall.

Thanks

You can't. You have to slap the admin who allowed your WAS to be upgraded without doing the research for compatibility first.

You have to downgrade your WAS to a supported level for your Information Server installed version.

You had a functional WAS with your DataStage 8.1 setup at one point.
Get back to that release level.

Whomever upgraded your WAS needs to back out their change.

Simple as that. (ha, never that simple, I know)

But... no working WAS = no job extracting.

Period.
